Workshop lighting puzzles
explanation
Six workshop lighting checks
Use the ideas from Monday to Wednesday. Each drawing changes something, so trace the connections rather than remembering positions.
There are six short checks: repair, switch, series, parallel branch, common feed and safety. Your first response and any help you use are saved separately.
This is a review, not a speed test. You can retry after feedback or continue with an item marked for review.
circuit
1. Repair the break
Complete the circuit so current passes through the lamp and returns to the source.
Use these buttons with touch, a mouse or the keyboard. No dragging is needed.
0 complete paths. Lamp A is off. Source current 0 amperes.
- Path
- 0 complete paths
- Source current
- 0 A
- Equivalent resistance
- Not shown — open circuit
- Lamp A
- OFF · 0 A · 0 W
- Lamp B
- · ·
Hint 1: Trace from one source terminal, through the lamp and towards the other terminal.
Hint 2: The open connection is in the return path below the lamp.
Hint 3: Choose “Connect the gap”. The supported editor does not offer a bypass around the lamp.
prediction
2. Predict the switch
This lamp is on. Predict the result before the series switch opens.
1 complete path. Lamp A is on. Source current 1 amperes.
- Path
- 1 complete path
- Source current
- 1 A
- Equivalent resistance
- 12 Ω
- Lamp A
- ON · 1 A · 12 W
- Lamp B
- · ·
Hint 1: The switch is inside the circuit’s only current path.
Hint 2: Separated switch contacts make an open circuit.
movement break
Two-minute movement break
Pause the screen task before the two-lamp checks.
Stand up, stretch or get a drink. Return when you are ready; there is no countdown.
check
3. Series interruption
The two lamps share one current path. Choose the complete prediction.
1 complete path. Lamp A is on; Lamp B is on. Source current 0.5 amperes.
- Path
- 1 complete path
- Source current
- 0.5 A
- Equivalent resistance
- 24 Ω
- Lamp A
- ON · 0.5 A · 3 W
- Lamp B
- ON · 0.5 A · 3 W
check
4. Parallel interruption
Branch A is about to open. Select all three statements that correctly explain the result.
2 complete paths. Lamp A is on; Lamp B is on. Source current 2 amperes.
- Path
- 2 complete paths
- Source current
- 2 A
- Equivalent resistance
- 6 Ω
- Lamp A
- ON · 1 A · 12 W
- Lamp B
- ON · 1 A · 12 W
check
5. Common-feed trap
Branch A is already open and Lamp B still has a complete branch. Now the common feed is about to open.
1 complete path. Lamp A is off; Lamp B is on. Source current 1 amperes.
- Path
- 1 complete path
- Source current
- 1 A
- Equivalent resistance
- 12 Ω
- Lamp A
- OFF · 0 A · 0 W
- Lamp B
- ON · 1 A · 12 W
check
6. Keep the real-world boundary
Apply the safety boundary after the virtual circuit checks.

Review saved
Your first answers, retries and help used are ready for the parent summary.
The summary keeps independent answers separate from corrected answers after feedback. It can show what was secure today and which ideas still needed support.
Completing these six checks supports the pilot review; it does not award a qualification result or prove practical competence.
